Keller High School Debuts 2022-2023 Water Polo Season as an Official UIL Sport

TAP Innovations Sponsors Keller High School Water Polo in Inaugural UIL Season through its TAP Cares employee program

DALLAS, TX – September 13, 2022. This season marks the first for the Keller Indians as an official varsity high school sport, receiving approval from the University Interscholastic League (UIL) after decades as a club sport. Keller High School was among the 150 schools that competed annually in water polo as a club sport before receiving UIL status. This recognition is the first time in over 20 years that the UIL has sanctioned a new sport, the last being wrestling in 1998. The UIL works to provide students in Texas with “educational experiences through competition” while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork among member schools.

The 2022 water polo season consists of regional tournaments followed by the first official Texas High School State Championship on the 27th and 28th of October.
