Keller High School Debuts 2022-2023 Water Polo Season as an Official UIL Sport
TAP Innovations Sponsors Keller High School Water Polo in Inaugural UIL Season through its TAP Cares employee program
DALLAS, TX – September 13, 2022. TheAppPlace (TAP) Innovations, a minority-owned business certified by the Texas Small Business Association® (SBA®) and leading provider of cloud-based integration solutions across people and data enterprises, sponsors the Keller High School Water Polo team in Keller, Texas. This season marks the first for the Keller Indians as an official varsity high school sport, receiving approval from the University Interscholastic League (UIL) after decades as a club sport. TAP Innovations contributes to community programs through TAP Cares, a TAP Innovations initiative that supports causes important to employees and their families.
Keller High School was among the 150 schools that competed annually in water polo as a club sport before receiving UIL status. This recognition is the first time in over 20 years that the UIL has sanctioned a new sport, the last being wrestling in 1998. The UIL works to provide students in Texas with “educational experiences through competition” while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork among member schools.
“The Keller High School UIL student athletes have worked tremendously hard to become an official varsity sport,” said John Ragsdale, Founder CEO of TAP Innovations. “We are thrilled to see the passion and leadership of the water polo students, and we hope this TAP Cares sponsorship helps the team accomplish great success in and out of the water.”
The 2022 water polo season consists of regional tournaments followed by the first official Texas High School State Championship on the 27th and 28th of October. TAP Innovations Founder CEO John Ragsdale has long supported Keller ISD schools as a resident of Keller, TX for many years and proud parent of his children who currently attend or have previously graduated through Keller schools.
